ハワイノースショアにいるはずのダニーから先日連絡があり北海道ニセコに行くから
来ないかと...！？？

そんないきなり.....無理です。。。展示会用のデザインまだ終わってないし。(涙)





ことの発端はニセコにいるプロボーダーの友人から寒波で雪が凄いぞと言うメールが
来たようです。
それを知ったダニーはすぐさまハワイ→ニセコへ！！！！

海パンでチューブ入ってた人が、数日後に極寒のニセコでスノーボードを...(汗）

やっぱりWCTで世界を転戦していただけあってフットワークのレベルもちがいます☆

ニセコに着いたダニーと電話で話し、ハワイからいきなり北海道で寒くないかと聞くと...『ハワイはいつも夏だから雪サイコー！！』だそうです。。。





そしてブログ用のメールと画像が送られてきました。

僕もかれこれ20年前でしょうか、プロスノーボーダーを目指しニセコに山ごもりしていた頃を思い出しました。スキー場で働く地元のおっちゃんやおばちゃん達、ホントみなさん温かくて良い人達ばかりでした。ご飯もおいしくて三ヶ月ほどでしたが良い思い出です☆

The surf is UP!!! The final WQS finished at Sunset Beach yesterday in beautiful 12 ft waves. Joel Parkinson won with classic sunset full rail carve!! Today is UP UP and everyone is Talking Eddie but no go... don't count out tomorrow though...more on the way!!! Today pics are from towing some nice waves on the outer reefs..With all this nuts surf...we have to always say thanks to the life guards and water safety crew in Hawaii...happy surfing!!.....Danny

波がやってきた。１２フットのいい波でWQS最終戦が昨日サンセットビーチで終わった。ジョエルパーキンソンがフルレイルカーブで勝利。今日はますます波が上がりみんながエディーコンテストを予想したが、行われず、明日になるようだ。今日のトーイングでの写真。常にライフガードとセーフティークルーへの感謝の気持ちを持ち続けたい。ハッピーサーフィン！ダニー

Winter is in full swing now in Hawaii with lots of waves and winds from the north....not ideal for surfing on the North shore. Last night was a benefit for Rell Sun at Waimea Vally. Some great jams from Jake Shimabukoro, Paula Fuga , Rob Machado and others. If you have not heard their music I recommend you search for them on youtube.com . A fun concert and benefit that funds will go towards a statue to be built in honor of the legend surfer and "queen of Makaha" Lots of big surf and favorable winds are headed our way!! Sunset Beach WQS is set to finish and the world title race set to be determind at for the Pipeline masters. Happy surfing!!!.....Danny

ハワイに冬がやってきた。北からの波と風。ワイアメアバリーで昨晩はRell Sun のファンドレイザーで盛り上がった。Jake Shimabukoro, Paula Fuga , Rob Machado のすごいパワー。ぜひYouTubeでチェックしてみて。このコンサートの利益は"queen of Makaha" の像に寄付される。ビッグウェーブといい風が来る。サンセットビーチでのWQSは終わりに近づき、パイプラインマスターズへ突入だ。ハッピーサーフィン！ダニー

Hello everyone! This week was busy and fun!! We swam with the turtles after a surf lesson with some friends! The triple crown at Haleiwa started for a few rounds before the surf junked out. Cool art on the contest banners. Rains set in so we headed so some special gardens with beautiful mountains!! Swell is on the rise from tomorrow so see you in the water!!!
